Keeping Up With the Edmonton Renovation Show
Jan 30, 2016, 16:50 PM
The Edmonton Renovation Show weekend is well underway and hundreds of show goers have flocked to the Edmonton Expo Centre to learn about the latest home and renovation trends, shop some of Edmonton’s most innovative retailers and ask all of their burning DIY questions.
On Friday night HGTV’s Bryan Baeumler took to the main stage, presented by the Edmonton Journal and designed by Liquid Granite Coatings. There he provided audience members with tips to master their next home renovation. Through telling first hand accounts about home reno horror stories he dispensed expert advice about fixing DIY problems and helping your home renovations go off without a hitch! Following his presentation, Bryan signed autographs and took photos with his admiring fans and he will be doing it all again today with another presentation at 1:00 pm.
The Capital FM Renovation Runway has been a hit among show goers, who have had a chance to stroll through our very own “home” designed by Rosalyn Lazaruk of Wicket Blue Interiors. Whether your interior tastes are traditional or contemporary, this year’s latest renovation trends are currently on display and our exhibitors are being showcased in this stylin’ feature.
Nine local DIYers, craftspeople and celebrities are showing off their creative talents in the Ultimate Upcycle Challenge: Unhinged, presented by Rust-Oleum. The locals took upcycled doors and had to reuse, recycle and repurpose them for under $100! The final pieces are being displayed at the show and put up for auction. Guests have the opportunity to bid on their favorite creation in a silent auction benefitting Habitat for Humanity, so make sure you stop by and put in a bid!
Kids have a chance to swoon at dream homes suited just for them at the Playhouse Parade, with landscaping provided by Blue Isle Landscaping. Some of our very talented exhibitors have put their design minds to work and created awe-inspiring playhouses that push boundaries and draw admirers young and old. Some lucky kiddos will be creating new memories this summer in these masterpieces as they are being auctioned off, with the proceeds going towards the Edmonton Public Library.
The Edmonton Renovation Show is on at the Edmonton Expo Centre until January 31st. Edmonton homeowners can enjoy the features mentioned above and more! Don't have tickets yet?
